In an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Urdu, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that administering the oath was part of his job and that he would fulfill it.

He went on to say, “One must do if the public elects someone.”

The president made the remark in response to a question about whether he would administer the PML-N supremo’s oath of office.

Dr. Arif Alvi expressed optimism during the interview when asked if he believes the general elections will be held on the scheduled date next year.

“The judiciary, administration, and political leaders all agree on the importance of holding elections on time.” “There is no doubt that the elections will take place on February 8,” he stated.

Dr. Arif Alvi insisted that he is the spokesperson for all Pakistanis, not just one party. According to Dr. Arif Alvi, the Constitution does not allow the president to take practical steps to ensure fair elections.

However, he stated that it is his responsibility as the head of state to continue “prompting” the executive to do its job transparently.

When asked if he doubted PTI leader Imran Khan will run in the elections, Dr. Alvi responded in the negative.

The president remarked, “I won’t speculate into that; it depends on the courts.”

Why his attempts to make contact with Khan’s military organization had failed was the question posed to him.

“There were many reasons for the failure of reconciliation between the army and PTI chairman.”

In response to a question on whether he believes a certain party is front-runner ahead of selection in Pakistan, the president stated, “I don’t want to turn myself controversial by arguing on such matters.”

In order to prevent the president’s stance from becoming divisive, he continued, saying he would not comment on it.
