The victims will not be officially identified until a forensic post-mortem is planned. Superintendent Runacres stressed how important it was to stay away from online comments and the sharing of information that could hurt future legal processes. There will be a mobile police office set up near the crime scene so that the community can get involved, and high-visibility patrols will be run to reassure people.

Leanne Reynolds, an advocate for knife bins and bleed kits, spoke at a vigil about how shocked people were in the community. She talked about how important it is to train and help the community in order to stop people from carrying big knives around town. Residents of the area will be able to talk to the cops and council at a meeting on Monday at noon. The police stressed how sharing pictures or talking about what happened online could affect the families during this tough time.
