There are a ton of options for gamers in 2023.
There have been so many hits in the last 12 months that it would have been difficult to finish even half of them.
That did not necessarily translate into a successful year for the entire industry: hundreds of businesses lost thousands of employees, and E3, the gigantic convention that was once the greatest event in the gaming calendar, was permanently shut down.
It’s easy to get distracted in a year this exciting, but here are some of the major games of 2023.
Third Gate of Baldur games
Placing his palm to his chin, seemingly lost in meditation, is a man with white hair, pointy ears, and extraordinarily pale complexion. He’s dressed in an ornate green jacket with a high neck and golden shoulder embroidery. Shafts of the medieval robe are a rich purple color. It looks like he is in a wooded area. Two flaming torches mounted on rocks are lighting up the area in the distance because it is nighttime.
The depth of this role-playing game astounded both players and critics; in the game’s Dungeons & Dragons-based environment, the Forgotten Realms, many gamers easily accumulated over 100 hours of playtime.
Critics were particularly impressed by the story’s flexibility, amount of detail, and abundance of customization options. Every time you play, a whole new set of characters and options are available, thanks to Belgian developer Larian.
Few people were shocked when it won Game of the Year at the largest awards ceremony in the gaming business in December, but many hadn’t predicted this particular result at the beginning of the year.

Additionally, a standout musical segment that included the imaginary band Old Gods of Asgard Turn became one of the year’s most talked-about gaming moments.
“That is one of the best set pieces of 2023 for me,” Argick added. “The song and the manner in which the gaming world incorporates it all.
“It just makes that entire moment something special.”
Spider-Man 2

Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival, two more modes intended to draw in more players, debuted alongside Lego Fortnite.
Dando stated: “Eventually you’ll just launch Fortnite and if you’re feeling a certain genre, you don’t need to leave the game.”
Phantom Liberty at Cyberpunk 2077

Grand Theft Auto VI
